We chose to use the above image for the back cover based on the following:
- Although you can not see his face and the front of the artist, this image works really well for the back of the album by showing the back of him. This is because the front of the artist can be shown on the front cover.
- The artist is still recognizable, in this shot, even though the front of him is not shown.
- The scenery is very attractive, and links well to the calmness and pleasantness of the artists songs.
- The background is very beautiful, with the boat out at sea, and comes across as very calm.
I chose to you I photo to begin to create the back cover whilst Emily created the front, this saved both of us a lot of time ans got the job done much quicker! Although we both still compared ideas such as fonts and colours. In I photo I experimented with a variety of effects.
I also altered the following:
Black and white effect: Emily and I came to the decision that we were going to create a house style for the digi pack, by giving all of the images for the digi pack a black and white effect. This was really easy to do in i photo, and helped a lot to create the house style.
Sharpness: to make the image much more crisp and clear, which made the image look of a much better quality.
Contrast: I upped the contrast in order to make the image much lighter, showing a stronger contrast between the dark and light areas of the image.
Brightness: The brightness was altered, in order to make the image much lighter, as after using the contrast some areas came across as a little dark.
Balance: The balance was altered with as a way of creating a darker effect on some parts of the image.
Here is a screen shot of the image in i photo which I have been working on:
Next I then began to try out several different fonts in Photoshop. I tried out a variety of different fonts and then discussed them all with Emily to gain her opinion.
