After using you tube as a main search engine, Emily and I came across the following music videos, which we thought would be a good starting point, for finding the perfect song for our music video. The music videos we looked at were of the chosen genre of Indie/rock as a starting point.
Alex Lloyd- what we started was the first music video which we looked at.
This was a narrative music video, which follows the main character, as he spends the duration of the music video, in a coffee shop watching and sketching a lady. This is a very basic music video, filmed in black and white focusing on the main character sketching for the duration. The song was very repetitive of the lyrics "you know what we started" throughout, which would have to be linked into our music video somehow. The repetitiveness of the lyrics, made the song seem quite dull and boring, and would not give us much to work on for a video.
Gary Go Open arms was the next video which we chose to look at. This video gives the sense of change, with the common question of "what happened to..." repeated in the lyrics. This video is a narrative, which tells the story of a little boy always wanting to be an astronought whilst including several cuts to the little boy, now grown up as a man, being an astronourt . This is a very positive song with the lyrics "everything will be alright" meaning that our video may also contain this positivity.

One Republic- Mercy was the last video which we looked at. This is a performance music video, focusing on the lead singer of the band throughout.
